ND Public Art We Have Restored, Conserved or Preserved in New Mexico

Help Us Save Turtle Fountain

Located at the New Mexico State Veterans Nursing Home in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, The Turtle Fountain is WPA New Deal sculpture created by Eugenie Shonnard in the 1930s. The site was originally the courtyard at the Carrie Tingley Polio Hospital for Children, before becoming the states only veterans nursing home. Today this relic stands broken, silent and in a state of disrepair, but we are raising funds to restore this piece of living, American history!
